Receive Text and Email Alerts in a Campus Emergency
Seattle Community Colleges students and staff members can sign up to receive text message and email alerts in case of a campus emergency or unplanned closure. The Seattle Community Colleges Alerts system will make a best effort to send messages if there is an emergency that causes the campus to close unexpectedly or if there is an incident that may pose a safety concern for the community.

Go to the SCC Campus Alerts page and sign up using your College SID and PIN to designate a cell phone number (for text message alerts) or the email address you'd like to use to receive alerts. You may use more than one number or email address. Alerts to staff members will go to the college email by default, and others can be added.

If you were a student at Seattle Vocational Institute or another District College and paid "qualified tuition and fees" during 2011, your family may be eligible for tax credits. To find out if you qualify, follow this link: 1098-T Education Tax Credit.

The Student Achievement Initiative is a new performance funding system for community and technical colleges that represents a shift from funding entirely for enrollment inputs to also funding meaningful outcomes.

The initiative is intended to:
  • Improve public accountability by more accurately describing what students achieve from attending our colleges each year.
  • Provide financial incentives to colleges for increasing the levels of achievement attained by their students.
