1:00 - Final Project Completion

After completion of your Final Project, either...Add quality to your Imports website, OR create a Personal Web.  Use your creativity.  Get ideas from other websites.

 

Add Quality to Your Imports Web

Continue improving your Imports Web by adding pictures, titles, and descriptions for the various products; describe your business more thoroughly, and add pictures of your operation and facilities;  show your employees, their titles, and services to the customer;  show how to order products; indicate your principles and business practices; etc. 

 

Create a Personal Web.  Design and build a personal website using the skills you have learned in this class.  Use Photoshop Elements to add pictures and creative designs with layering.  Add your own personal banner.

1:00 - Interactive demonstration and discussion of Chapter 2 -- design criteria, how to add a page, rename, change title, label, change the theme on one page, background color, tables, merge cells, insert images, and photo montage. (2nd Handout p. 2.04-2.62)

 

2:30 - Final Project

Complete the 2-Modifying the Navigation Component exercise.  Then, continue with the 3-Link Bar and Bookmark exercise.

 

8/10/11, Wed:

1:00 - Creating a FrontPage Web Using a Template

Interactive demonstration and discussion of how to create a web with a template, themes, add and modify text, delete tables, bulleted lists, hyperlinks, email hyperlink, print, and publish a page. 

 

2:30 - Begin the 1-Corporate Presence Exercise.

1:00 - Final Photoshop Project

 

2:30 - Creating a FrontPage Web

Discussion of the web and FrontPage basics.  Use the PowerPoint presentation named Project 1 Intro (G:\Instructors\DKamarainen\Dig Img & Web Rev\FrontPage) to help you review the handout "Creating a FronPage Web Using a Template".  Go through it together as a team, if you like.

 

8/8/11, Mon

1:00 - Retouching Photos

Interactive demonstration and discussion of how to touch up scratches and blemishes with Guided Edit and Quick Fix, remove red eye, clone stamp, spot healing, remove dust and scratches, crop, and cookie cutter.  (p. 150-160)

 

2:30 - Elements Screen & Terms Quiz

Interactive demonstration and discussion of how to touch up scratches and blemishes, crop, cookie cutter, rotate, straighten, sharpen, and extract.  (p. 161-171)

 

Retouching

  1. Find a picture named Scratches and Stains in the Photos Unfinished.  You may scan your own picture or search online for an image that has scratches or stains. 

  2. Save the picture in your personal drive as Scratches and Stains. 

  3. Remove all scratches or stains using the toolbox tools, Guided Edit and/or Quick Fix.

  4. Save As Scratches and Stains Edited in your personal drive.

1:00 - Manipulating Selections

Interactive demonstration and discussion of how to move a selection, copy and paste, delete, rotate, scale, skew or distort, and feather a border.  (p. 116-125)

 

2:30 - Layer Basics

Interactive demonstration and discussion of how to manipulate layers:  add, hide, move, duplicate, delete, duplicate, reorder, link, merge, rename, and create fill layer.  (p. 128-142)

 

Project 2:  Using the bg_tree1.jpg as the background, create a realistic scene by adding at least three selected images to the background.

 

The Photoshop Elements Terminology Quiz is scheduled for Monday, 8/8/11.

 

8/3/11, Wed:

1:00 - Selection Techniques

Interactive demonstration and discussion of marquee, lasso, magic wand, quick selection, selection brush, add or subtract, save and load, invert, and deselect  (p. 96 - 113) 

 

2:30 - Selection Techniques

Complete the discussion on selection techniques. 

 

Project 1:  Create a new blank image, select and add images of flowers and a butterfly arranged in a natural way using the appropriate selection tools.  Email the completed assignment to your instructor.
