Bookstore SCCC

BookstoreBooks and materials needed for vocational training programs at SVI may be purchased at the Seattle Central Community College campus bookstore. Hours are posted at the beginning of each quarter. See instructor or program coordinator before purchasing kits and uniforms required for specific programs. The bookstore is located at 1701 E. Broadway, Seattle, WA and is open to the public. College enrollment is not required to make a purchase.

SVI Counseling Service

SVI's Counseling Service provides educational advising and counseling services to students and staff. For more information please visit the Counseling Service's page.

Dental Clinic

Kid The Dental Clinic at Seattle Vocational Institute offers preventive and operative dental services performed by a licensed dentist on staff. The clinic is open to the public Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Also by appointment, call 206-934-4973.

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, including good attendance and demonstration of professionalism, SVI students in the Business Computer and Allied Health Divisions are placed in Internships.
Internship is a supervised, unpaid learning experience which provides students the opportunity to transition from the classroom to the workplace. While student interns are involved in a learning agenda at their internship sites, they are able to become valuable contributors to the workplace.
SVI provides Student Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage for Allied Health students at no cost to the internship site. For information on internship sites, requirements for qualification and internship opportunities, contact your Internship Coordinator.

Job Resource Center

The Job Resource Center maintains employer information and current listings for full and part-time jobs. Pre-employment workshops are held every quarter. Job search support groups and career-related reference materials are available as well as personal computers, copiers and software for resume preparation. The Job Resource Center also has a job search developer and coordinator on staff. Job readiness is a strong part of every SVI training program.

Salon Services

The School of Cosmetology Salon is open to the public from 9:00 until 7:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 9:00 until 5:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. The Salon is located at 1500 Harvard Avenue, Seattle, WA. Senior Citizens (65 years and older) receive a discount for all services rendered. A licensed Cosmetology Instructor is on staff during all salon hours.
